Manage conflict better and live a more peaceful life!
Conflict is natural, but our ability to de-escalate and manage conflict doesn’t come naturally.
Develop the skills and strategies through Peace Coaching!
What is “Peace Coaching”?
Peace Coaching is ‘conflict coaching’ with a twist: an emphasis building peace! I help people who experience conflict daily gain personal peace and prepare them for future conflict. In one-on-one, confidential coaching sessions, we discuss your conflict, explore options for managing it, with or without the people involved in the conflict with you, and develop peaceful skills and strategies that strengthen your ability to engage, manage and resolve conflict productively. The purpose of Peace Coaching is to guide you to consider new perspectives, make new decisions, and learn to practice peaceful ways of responding to any kind of problem or conflict. The tools I provide equip you to handle future conflict and become a facilitator of peace for others.
Accessible
Coaching has often been framed as a luxury, exclusive or mainly aimed at only professionals, ignoring a large portion of the population that would benefit greatly from coaching. As a journalist at heart, it’s my duty to share useful information with the public. Conflict resolution is information more people need to learn.
No strings attached
Set your own pace; choose between 30 minute or 1 hour sessions as frequent or spaced out as you’d like or a 4 week package. Conflicts are dynamic, not time bound, so your method of resolution shouldn’t be either.
Hi! My name is Odera.
I'm a Peace coach, Peace journalist and Mediator with the Los Angeles County Superior Courts. From watching the twin towers fall on 9/11 to narrowly escaping terrorists in Nigeria and now navigating present day America, my connection to conflict and my quest for peace is personal. I see the world as a global village, a global community and I understand that the world can’t have peace until we each, individually master peace. Through one on one heartfelt coaching sessions, I’d love to work with you to solve for peace in your life, so we can get just one step closer to solving world peace.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Solving for peace started as an article, grew into a social media platform and has blossomed into a peace coaching business dedicated to making peace and peaceful resolutions to conflict mainstream. I don’t claim to have all the answers but together we can work on solutions. If more people practiced peace as a skill they were keen on developing, it would cause a ripple effect in society, influencing more healthy conflicts that bring us closer together rather than push us further apart.

All kinds of conflict, no issue is too small or too big. It can be a personal, professional or corporate issue; if it’s causing you stress, I want to help. Struggling with a personal decision? Having a hard fight with an otherwise close friend or family member? Before you go to HR at work, speak with me and let’s give you the power to de-escalate on your own.

In therapy you talk about a conflict and how it made you feel. When you share your conflict with me, I help you identify the underlying reasons for a particular conflict or misunderstanding. A therapist focuses on helping you process emotions surrounding a conflict, I am working to train you in real time social interactions, responses and personal responsibility. The reasons for your reactions to certain triggers are things I encourage you to take back to your therapist to explore, I’m just here to point them out and offer a reframed perspective to help you manage the conflict and transform it from an unhealthy conflict to healthy conflict to reduce your stress and help maintain peace in your day to day life.

Because your problems are with humans, with emotions and nuance, all the books in the world can’t give AI that but I can. I also understand the need for community, as an African and as an only child I have no choice but to see all humanity as an extension of myself. Anyway i can help the community, and by extension help bring peace to the world i live in, even in the smallest way, that's meaningful to me and I hope you would afford me the honor of contributing to society in this way. This is more than just a business for me, this is a mission and a calling. My unique edge and insight comes from 7 years of living with Igbo elders and experiencing ancient wisdom in real time. Most importantly I have a soul, AI does not and I coach with LOVE, AI cannot.

I’m about inclusivity because I see humanity as family. For something as beneficial and transformative as dispute resolution I don't think it should be reserved for the privileged few that can afford it or those that happen to stumble into legal trouble. Conflicts are daily and consistent and no one can deny the rise in conflicts all around us. I want those that are willing and feel the same way about cultivating a more peaceful world to be able to comfortably afford to get support through conflicts. No conflict is too small, and a problem shared is a problem half solved.
